چکیده

This work aimed to determine the effect of biodegradable superabsorbent hydrogel based on cellulose derivatives growth and yield sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) dry land. The design used was a completely randomized (CRD). applied treatments consisted four levels hydrogel: without
(control), 2, 4, 6 g per plant, respectively. Each treatment repeated six times in this experiment, yielding total 24 experimental pots. experiment pot contained 3 plants, thus all 72 plants. results showed that would significantly increase soil moisture, relative water content, plant height, stem diameter, ear cobs without husk. Likewise, length wet weights As preserves allowing be available for it might also temporarily store from gradually remove into soil. Further investigations should performed characterize interaction between land

Ozone Sensitivity in Sweet Corn (Zea mays L.) Plants: A Possible Relationship to Water Balance.

Stomatal characteristics affecting gas exchange were compared in two sweet corn hybrids (var. Bonanza and Monarch Advance) which differ in foliar ozone sensitivity. No significant differences were observed in stomatal frequencies, guard cell lengths, or conductances to water vapor diffusion. When plant water status was compared, leaf-water potentials for the ozone-resistant cultivar, Bonanza, we...

Effect of deep-tillage and nitrogen fertilization interactions on dryland corn (Zea mays L.) productivity

Subsoiling a compacted soil should loosen it, improve the physical conditions, and increase nutrient availability and crop yields. The aim of this work is to compare the effects of different tillage and fertility treatments in a loamy Typic Hapludoll soil, and to determine the interactions of N fertilization with several soil properties and dryland corn (Zea mays L.) productivity. The experimen...

Greenhouse Gas Fluxes from Irrigated Sweet Corn (Zea mays L.) and Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)

Intensive agriculture and increased N-fertilizer use have contributed to elevated emissions of the greenhouse gases, CO2, CH4, and N2O. In this study, the exchange of the greenhouse gases, CO2, N2O, and CH4, between a Quincy fine sand (mixed, mesic Xeric Torripsamments) soil and atmosphere was measured in a sweet corn (Zea mays L.) sweet corn potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) rotation during the 20...
